DALEDale was adopted from Animal Control in March, but was returned shortly after when it was discovered that he had heart worms. Sadly, his owners could not afford the treatments. Dale was a staff and volunteer favorite in March, and everyone was devastated when he was returned. He is a big, big love! Thank heavens - we had a wonderful person fall in love with Dale on Facebook - and she has been fostering him during his treatments. He is due for his final injections this week - which will cost somewhere near $700. The Angel Fund has committed to taking care of this final cost. Another life saved

MISTYMisty came into the Montgomery County Animal Care and Control with 3 puppies. She was there for over a month. She has a tumor on her chest - so we knew she would not be adopted. We took her to the vet where we discovered she was heart worm positive and has cancer. We are treating the heart worms and will have the tumor removed as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, Misty is living the good life in her foster home. We will keep you posted on her progress.

DRAKEDrake was surrendered to Animal Control with a broken leg, one that had been broken for about 2 weeks. The owner had taken him to a vet but only got pain meds for him. He is only 5 months old. Animal Control took him to the vet, and x-rays were taken that looked good at first. They thought that there was a chance to save his leg. However, when they went in to operate, there was too much scar tissue (if he had been taken to a vet sooner, his leg could have been saved), and his right rear leg was amputated. The next day when he could leave the vet, he stood right up and walked out to the car. Drake went to rescue and is doing great!!!
