These two sweet guys arrived at Montgomery County Animal Care and Control within days of each other after the 4th of July weekend. Both had severe burns and required extensive medical treatment. Apollo was an owner surrender whose owner could not afford treatment. Frederick was found as a stray.
They are both ready for a foster or permanent home where they can recover with the love and care they deserve. Please call 931-648-5750 to fill out a foster or adoption application. The vet bills for these two will exceed $2,000 - and The Angel Fund will be taking care of all care and treatment. The MC Angel Fund is a non-profit organization (501(C)3), that has played a HUGE role in saving the life of Franky, a dog made famous by social media. When Franky was found, he was severely beaten and barely hanging on to life. The MC Angel Fund, partnered alongside with Sango Vet Hospital, worked to raise the funds necessary to save Franky's Life. Because of their dedication and effort, Franky got a second chance to live a life a dog was meant to live. Barks & Brews was created with the mindset of helping organizations like this, such as The MC Angel Fund, so we can give a fur baby a second chance at a better life. Disclaimer: Ticket purchase with valid I.D.'s for those over 21 will be able to obtain the wristband needed for the consumption of alcohol during the event. No outside food or beverages will be allowed. We have another fur baby in need of assistance.
Sparky is a 14-week old Lab puppy who got a little excited about chasing a cat and jumped off a deck. The owner needs assistance with taking care of his leg. Surgery will be close to $1,000, and they have already paid $400 for x-rays and pain medications. They are a military family who need a little financial help. Please call Animal House Vet at 9316457757 and make a donation for Sparky. They need to raise the full amount before surgery can be done. Thank you!!! The Angel Fund will also be calling in a donation. This is the most heartbreaking story. It is hard to see how horrible people can be in their treatment of animals - but Franky is also a testimony to the goodness in people and the resilience of animals who have been abused.
The Montgomery County Angel Fund is 100% committed to paying for whatever it takes to help save Franky and prepare him for his best life. Please consider donating. And thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone at Montgomery County Animal Care and Control and Sango Veterinary and the others who have helped save him. Shared from Montgomery County Animal Shelter... We always like to get awareness out about identifying and reporting animal abuse and animal fighting. We have a story that hits real close to home and just reinforces the need for everyone to please report abuse to your local law enforcement and animal control agencies. This is Franky and he was reported as a HBC (Hit By Car) case, however, when our officers arrived to a group of caring individuals who stopped to watch over Franky until we arrived, it was apparent this was not a HBC case. Upon close inspection Franky's entire left side of his head and neck were torn apart as was a good portion of his right side and both ears. Franky's wounds were also infested with maggots and dead tissue which made it apparent he had been in this state for at least a few days. We quickly transported Franky to Sango Veterinary Clinic where their staff was awesome in providing quick care t Franky. We are confident that Franky's wounds were a result of him being a Bait Dog. A bait dog is basically a punching back for dogs being trained to fight or to test the aggression of other dogs. Bait dogs normally do not fight back and are tied to a fence or tree to prevent them from running off. In most instances a bait dog is mauled or killed in the process. Somehow Franky survived his ordeal suffering blood loss, infection, and severe wounds to his head and neck. Dr. Whitbeck and her awesome team are working diligently on helping Franky make a full recovery and the Sango Vet staff have already taken it upon themselves to all be involved in Franky's care from treats, to walks to lots of love. Dr. Whitbeck stated the Franky has no interest in cats or dogs and is a sweetheart. This all brings to light the importance of strong anti-animal cruelty laws not only in Tennessee but throughout the country and stiffer penalties for violators. Please keep Franky in your thoughts and we will keep you posted on his progress. Franky is going to need a special place as he has a great deal of ongoing vet care and recovery ahead of him but he has already shown a very strong will to survive and the need to be loved. If you are interested in helping Franky or many of our other pets that need serious vet care, please visit the Montgomery County Angel Fund page at www.mcangelfund.org or their Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/mongtomerycountyangelfund/ We also want to thank all those caring individuals who stopped to render aid to Franky and block traffic until we could arrive to prevent any further harm coming to him. You were awesome and thank you for caring! UPDATE APRIL 19, 2019 Franky had surgery today to close the wounds on his head. He is resting comfortably now and in the good hands of the loving staff at Sango Veterinary Hospital. As we reported before, The MC Angel Fund is committed to covering all the veterinary costs associated with Franky’s road to recovery. In addition to surgery, Franky is also heart worm positive and monochrid. We will have a better idea of all the costs next week. As of today, we have had 36 donations totaling over $2,500! The outpouring of support for Franky has been truly inspirational. Please continue to follow Franky’s journey with us. UPDATE APRIL 28, 2019 COME MEET FRANKY - DOG FIGHT AWARENESS EVENT SUNDAY, APRIL 29TH 2-4 PM - SANGO VETERINARY HOSPITAL, CLARKSVILLE, TN Thank you to all who came out to meet Franky today. He is so inspiring and such a little angel. It truly takes a village – and The Angel Fund is proud to be a part of this one. Thank you to everyone at Montgomery County Animal Care and Control and at Sango Veterinary Clinic for your continued love and support of Franky and all the other animals of need in Montgomery County. If you were there today and have some good pictures - please email me at [email protected]. We would love to share the Franky love! Meet Hazel!!!! She is the cutest, sweetest pup ever!
Hazel was found and brought to Montgomery County Animal Care and Control with an injured leg. After seeing a vet, it was decided that amputation of the leg was the best prognosis. Hazel had surgery - and as you can see below - it has not affected her happy disposition at all. The MC Angel Fund was able to pay for Hazel’s surgery, and we are happy to report that she is recovering nicely and happily at a local rescue. Thank you for helping us save lives! If you would like to donate for Hazel - DONATE TODAY Dale is heartworm free!!!! Congrats and thank you to his foster and now permanent family for getting him through his treatments and loving him every step of the journey. We love you big guy!
Please read the story below about Lestat. He will live out the rest of his life in a hospice foster. If you would like to donate, you can do so to The Angel Fund (and we will send money to the vet) or directly to Cats on Commerce (their info is listed below). Thank you!!!!!
DONATE TODAY via MC Angel Fund ORIGINALLY POSTED VIA PUURRRFECT PAWS VIA www.facebook.com/kittierescue/ Ok. I know you have all been waiting on update for Lestat. Looks like we are gonna opt for hospice care. We are looking at quality of life. He has been on pain meds and is still getting around great. Eating food after we figured out what kind he really likes. He likes science diet adult food. His foster will be doing a bucket list for him and we will be posting his adventures and how he’s doing. We still owe about $800 on his Scan and he will be getting blood work tomorrow at Cats On Commerce with Dr Baugher. This way we can have his kidneys and everything checked and figure out what’s the best and safest medicine for him. We couldn’t find a definite answer on what type of cancer he has. They only accurate way would be leg amputation and part of shoulder and possibly chest. Then all would be sent out for analysis. The surgery would be around $4000 and there are no guarantees. He seems happy and content. Very loving and gives kisses and even plays. So we will at least do what his family chose not to do, we will help him through this with monitoring and meds. This is still gonna be a cost for the rescue and we truly hope he has a lot of years left still. His care will be continued at Cats On Commerce. If you would like to call in a donation there for his hospice care please do so. Under Puurrrfect Paws Rescue for Lestat and Judy McGrew Cats on commerce (931) 292-2829 Or you can send via PayPal. https://www.paypal.me/puurrrfectpawsrescue We have three new pups we are helping right now - Patches, Justin, and Garland. All three came into Montgomery County Animal Control as strays over the last few weeks. All three had broken legs - we believe they had probably been hit by a car. All three dogs require extensive treatment and extended care. We need your help with treating these sweet babies! We estimate each of these vet bills to be at least $500.
Patches - Male 4 months old. Hound mix. Has been neutered. Patches has had his pin removed and is up for adoption NOW - contact us if interested. In foster care now. Justin - Male 6 months old. Will have pin removed in a few weeks and be available for adoption thereafter. Garland - 1 year old Heeler. Will be in foster care for 8-10 weeks until pin comes out of her leg. She loves riding in the car to see her friends at the vet. She visited with all the other dogs in the waiting room when she went for recheck. You can donate directly to our bank account through the links below. Thank you!!!! DONATE TODAY This is Patches. Patches was brought to Montgomery County Animal Care and Control as a stray. He was picked up after being hit by a car. 😢
Patches was taken to the vet where it was discovered that his leg was broken. The vet put a pin in his leg and also neutered him while in surgery. The Angel Fund is covering all the costs of his surgery. Patches is a six month old mixed breed. He is living the happy life in his foster home while recovering. The pin will be removed from his leg in 6 weeks. Isn’t he adorable? If you would like to help Patches, please donate on the link below. DONATE TODAY This Saturday, October 27, 2018 is “Clear the Shelter SuperHero Adoption Day” at The Montgomery County Animal Care and Control in honor of Scott Reif, Jr.
We would like to raise enough money to spay or neuter 57 cats and 35 dogs in order to waive these fees on Saturday ($4,000). Please consider donating - $50 is the cost for one animal - we truly appreciate any donations!!!! Let’s see how much we can raise this week!!!! Please click here to donate. |
